The Wrist Series examines, in not-quite-wearable form, parts of the excruciating process of having a physical trauma (being run over) and navigating the medical and insurance industries that are only focused on saving money, not treating trauma. The original cast piece that appears in each part of the series was made from a mold of medical hardware that stabilizes the wrist (the actual hardware put into and taken out of the Sloth's wrist). The Run Over "bracelet" is made from faulty bronze casts with flashing left in tact, attached with brass pins to an ace bandage, and repeatedly run over with a car. The Actuary Brooch signifies the value and predicted future set out by insurance actuary tables, each section cast in bronze and added with brass hooks to the previous section, with places for stones (cubic zerconia) to be set in place for each year lived post-trauma. The Fixed "bracelet" represents the feelings of physical trauma and surgical recovery, crafted with hammered copper, brass pins, and bronze cast hardware.
